庄严的建筑外形与功能的完美结合是该方案的最大特色,其设计理念总结如下:
1.人性化的人流组织(Passenger
Friendly Flows):人性化的人流组织体现了可持续发展的设计原则,使该机场起到了高效的运输枢纽作用,为所有用户提供了方便快捷的设施。
2.高效的运输枢纽(Efficient Transport Interchange):各种形式交通组织的综合,提供了整体的高效运营,高效的枢纽机场功能满足各个航站楼同步运营的要求。
3.运营的灵活性和高效性(High Operational Flexibility
& Efficiency):该机场在2008年奥运会前投入运营,又具备未来发展的灵活性,考虑到未来国际、国内不同的交通流量时的灵活切换,最大限度地减少了机场未来的发展对运营的影响,高近机位容量不到40万平方米的航站楼可提供约67个近机位。
4.可持续发展的环保设计(Environmentally Friendly
Sustainable Design):利用高效科技手段和环保能源实现机场的可持续发展的环保概念。

Associates Limited: terminal building and architectural
design specialists.
Chapman Taylor LLP: interior design and
commercial/retail.
Bura Happold Limited: structural engineers & building
services engineerings.
Mott/Macdonald Limited: integration of terminal into airport
master plan, landside and airside infrastructure planning,
geotechnical & civil engineering, communications and specialist
systems integration.
AEA Technology plc: environmental design/safety/risks
evaluation.
The companies in the consortium
have selected for their expertise and skill, which they offer in
their specialist areas to form a team with the full competence and
knowledge to design a world class, large, efficient and economic
airport terminal. Their high levels of skills are not usually found
in one single company and the key to success for such major projects
is to bring together companies with the required specialisms and the
ability to work together as a single united team. The companies in
the consortium are all involved in current or recent major airport
terminal projects and have worked together on various projects
around the world previously. The work of the consortium will be
coordinated and managed by Vector Management Limited, who
specializes in complex aviation projects and are providing similar
project management services on the US$ 4.5 billion terminal 5 at
Heathrow.
All companies in the consortium
have the highest international reputations and bring together into
one team the unique experience of two of the worldis leading airport
terminals: Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok and
London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. Other major international
airports we have been involved in include Barcelona, Spain,
Manchester, Dulles, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpour, Toronto as well as Jinan,
Dalian, Xiian and Guangzhou airport in China. The total staff in the
consortium comprises 10000 people.

维克多管理有限公司(Vector)
维克多管理有限公司是享誉世界的大型机场与交通设施专业化管理公司。该公司在北京首都国际机场3号航站楼项目中除进行设计过程管理之外,还负责设计开发和过程综合管理工作。
英国机场管理公司(BAA)
英国机场管理公司是全球规模最大、运行效率最高的机场运营商。在英国由BAA拥有并运营的大型机场有7处。经BAA运营管理的机场几乎遍布世界各国。在BAUC联合体提交给首都国际机场的竞标方案中,BAA负责提供机场运营规划和效率方面的专业咨询服务。
综汇建筑师事务所(IDA)
综汇建筑师事务所(IDA)的徐腾(Winston Shu)先生为我方首席方案建筑师,徐腾先生曾服务于英国福斯特建筑师事务所20余年。他曾任福斯特亚洲分公司的董事,负责香港新国际机场规划与设计工作。他还曾负责英国伦敦斯坦德机场航站楼的设计工作,并在上海浦东国际机场和广州新白云国际机场项目中担任福斯特设计竞赛项目组负责人。
Buro Happold
Buro Happold是英国顶级的结构工程公司。该公司以其匠心独特、造型别致的创新结构设计在业界获得广泛赞誉,更因其具备与建筑师及业主密切配合、力求满足他们在建筑结构功能上要求的非凡能力而著称于世。该公司曾负责当今世界最大屋面净跨度建筑——伦敦千年穹顶项目的结构设计。
Mott MacDonald
Mott Macdonald是曾成功中标并领导香港赤蜡角新机场建设的“Mott联合体”中的主要成员。该公司擅长于机场基础设施的设计以及各种复杂系统的合成。公司具有雄厚的综合技术实力与工程经验,其分支机构遍布全球。Mott
MacDonald同时也是伦敦希思罗机场5号航站楼项目团队中的重要成员。
查普曼泰勒公司
北京首都国际机场3号航站楼项目成功的另一个重要因素是其商业运营利润的最大化。查普曼泰勒公司作为在这一领域具有优秀业绩的顶级公司,曾经负责了欧洲众多商业、零售项目的设计工作。该公司与BAA具有合作伙伴关系,并应邀负责北京首都国际机场3号航站楼机场商业、零售设施的设计工作。
AEA Technology
BAUC联合体中还拥有AEA Technology这样提供专业化环境、安全、风险与相关业务咨询服务的世界顶级公司。这些是在项目方案与设计阶段需要精心考虑的关键环节。
